Which type of money transfer should you use? Understand the differences and choose the best option in the Inter super app

Sending money may seem simple, but choosing the right transfer option can make all the difference in your daily life. The wrong choice can lead to extra fees, longer delivery times, and even unnecessary complications.

With the Inter super app, you have four different transfer methods designed to meet a variety of financial needs — all simple, fast, and secure, right from your phone. Understanding how each one works is key to managing your money smarter in the United States.

What is a money transfer?

A money transfer is the process of sending funds from one account to another, whether within the United States or to another country.

In the U.S., these transactions are part of everyday life — from paying a friend to sending money to family abroad. But the best method depends on factors like destination, urgency, cost, and account type.

Choosing the right money transfer type in the Inter super app helps you save on fees, avoid delays, and ensure the amount arrives safely.

The 4 types of transfers available in the Inter super app

The Inter super app offers four main transfer methods designed for different situations. All are 100% online, with practicality and transparency.

1. InterPay

InterPay is the simple, fast, and free way to send dollars between Inter accounts operating in USD — from wherever you are.

It’s ideal for those who are already part of the Inter ecosystem and need to send or receive money from other users quickly.

  • How it works: Open the Inter super app, select the contact, and send the USD amount.
  • Cost: Free.
  • Processing time: Just a few moments.
  • Best use: Ideal for fast payments and transfers between Inter customers.

Tip: Perfect for splitting bills, paying friends, or moving funds between your own Inter accounts.

2. ACH Transfer

ACH transfer is the most economical option for sending dollars between U.S. accounts — perfect for domestic transfers between different financial institutions.

It uses the Automated Clearing House network, which processes electronic payments securely and automatically.

  • How it works: Money is transferred between U.S. accounts directly through the Inter super app.
  • Cost: Free.
  • Processing time: 1–3 business days, depending on the receiving institution.
  • Best use: Perfect for routine, non-urgent transfers.

Inter advantage: While other institutions may charge up to $10 per ACH transaction, Inter offers it for free, directly in the app.

3. Wire Transfer

Wire Transfer is the best option when you need the money to arrive quickly to another account in the U.S.

This type of transfer is settled directly between institutions, ensuring speed and security.

  • How it works: The money is sent electronically through the Inter super app with fast confirmation.
  • Cost: $15 per transaction.
  • Processing time: Generally same day or next business day.
  • Best use: Perfect for urgent or high-value payments, such as purchases, investments, or business expenses.

4. International Transfer

International transfers are the best option when you need to send money outside the United States.

Through the Inter super app, you can make international transfers easily, transparently, and without hidden fees — tracking everything in real time.

  • How it works: Funds are sent directly from the app, converting dollars to the destination currency.
  • Cost: No fee when sent from available account balance.
  • Processing time: In the Inter super app, 90% of international transfers arrive within 24 hours.
  • Best use: Ideal for international transfers to family abroad or investments in other countries.
