A Brazilian fintech company expanded the size of its U.S. headquarters offce in Miami's Brickell Key area.
In late October, Belo Horizonte, Brazil-based Inter&Co moved its Miami operation and about 40 employees to a newly renovated, 8,647-square-foot space in the Brickell Key Centre I Building at 501 Brickell Key Drive, CEO João Vitor Menin stated in an e-mail to the Business Journal. Inter&Co Miami was previously housed in a 2,000-square-foot offce within the same building, a company spokesperson added.
Inter&Co (Nasdaq: INTR), also known as Banco Inter, opened an offce in Miami to gain a foothold in the U.S. and promote itself to new arrivals from Brazil and the rest of South America. The digital bank also launched its "financial super app" last year for banking, investing, mortgages, credit, and insurance. According to Inter&Co, its app is now used by 33 million customers across the Americas.
On Oct. 22, a few days prior to Inter&Co officially opening its new office, Brightline announced that Inter&Co would be the "exclusive investing platform for Brightline passengers," according to a release from the Miami-based passenger train company. Under the arrangement, Brightline will help promote the Inter&Co app's $5 trade function for stocks, bonds, and ETFs. In addition, train riders will be granted "unique access to complimentary match tickets and VIP experiences at Inter&Co Stadium," Brightline added.
In January, Inter&Co secured the naming rights for the 25,500-seat home stadium of Major League Soccer team Orlando City SC and National Women's Soccer League team Orlando Pride. About four months later, Inter&Co opened an 1,800-square-foot customer lounge in Orlando at 5407 International Drive.
